a scenic train journey

A lovely train journey from Inverness takes you round the Beauly Firth, past the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth then runs alongside the North Sea. Fabulous views. The train goes all the way to Wick but makes a lovely day out if you only go part of the way to Dunrobin Castle, Dornoch, Golspie or Tain then return.  A scenic day out.  In the photo above the train is crossing the Caledonian canal at Clachnaharry at Inverness.train crossing the canal on the swing bridge at Clachnaharry in Inverness
