Welcome to Dolphin View Cottage - a holiday cottage for all seasons

Dolphin View Cottage welcomes you to Ardersier and the Scottish Highlands. Situated in a small friendly village with sea views from the living room and bedroom. Ardersier lies between Inverness and Nairn overlooking the Moray Firth and Chanonry Point, the area is ideal for wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, dog owners and people who just want to chill out in comfort.

Bottlenose dolphins can often be seen from nearby Fort George which is a lovely gentle walk from the cottage along well maintained and surfaced paths. The dolphins are resident and can be seen all year although the best time to see them is in the summer when they are really active catching the abundant salmon. For more about the dolphins please see the dolphin page Moray Firth bottlenose dolphins

The picturesque seaside village of Ardersier is only 10 miles from the Highland capital, Inverness, and 7 miles from Nairn, famed for its fine beaches and championship golf courses.

There's lots to do in the area.  Ardersier is well placed to be the perfect base for all the attractions the Moray Firth and Highland have to offer:- Dolphin Trips, Loch Ness, the Castle Trail, the Malt Whisky Trail, the Speyside Way, Cawdor Castle, Glen Affric, Findhorn Foundation, skiing at Aviemore and the Lecht: A perfect year-round location. Bird watching, Coastal walks, Sailing, Cycling, Dolphin watching, fishing - sea and loch. Easy level walking from the door -  Traditional music sessions in the village Pace Cafe most Tuesday nights.  Golfers are spoilt for choice with lots of fabulous courses nearby for all abilities, some of which allow golfers to bring their pets along whilst they play.

For water sports enthusiasts the gently shelving bay is excellent for wind and kite surfers, there is a set of concrete steps just opposite the cottage where you can launch canoes and a concrete slipway further along in the village.

Within a few miles of the cottage are forest walks, driving ranges, horse and pony trekking and riding, leisure clubs with gym, hot-tub, sauna, steam room. clay pigeon shooting, aquadome, football pitches, minigolf, pitch & putt, swimming pool, cinemas, tennis, bowling, theatre and of course fabulous dog-friendly beaches.

The cottage is open all year round and truly provides a holiday for all seasons.  Winter brings the dark nights with the possibilities of seeing the Northern lights if there is solar activity, winter birdwatching - easier when there are no leaves on the trees plus you have the winter migrants to spot, waxwings, geese, and redwings.  Crisp days with frosty walks, sometimes snow followed by cosy evenings in front of the log burning stove.  Spring brings the snowdrops, fresh green shoots, daffodils at Brodie Castle, birds starting to pair up and the dolphins are getting a lot more active.  In summer the dolphins are feasting on salmon, the days are very long, Highland games and agricultural shows are in full swing.  Autumn brings the fabulous colours, dolphins are still very much in evidence with the new babies making their first appearances.

At the end of the day, you can relax in front of the log burning stove with a cuppa enjoying the sea views whilst planning your next adventures using the super fast fibre broadband.  The cottage is dog-friendly and the rear garden is enclosed by a high wooden fence.
